Our Pastor

We have recently elected a new pastor, Reverend Dr. Alex McLean. Alex has been a Presbyterian minister for eleven years, serving churches in  Clyde, Ohio and Monticello and Bethel, New York.  He has been involved in a number of church renewal programs, and looks forward to working with members and friends of First Presbyterian Church, Swannanoa.  In May 2009, he completed his fourth unit of Clinical Pastoral Education having served at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI, Oakwood South Shore Hospital in Trenton MI, and Blanchard Valley Hospice in Findlay, OH. He received his Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, and his doctorate from University of Chicago Divinity School.  He enjoys golfing, reading, walking, dog rescue, and he looks forward to exploring and hiking the mountains of North Carolina with family and friends.
